The Fastuca family is raising money to help prevent bowel cancer. Many of us in the family have a genetic condition called FAP which has lead to bowel cancer in some family members.
My mum and brother tragically lost their lives too early to this disease, I am one of 7 children and 6 of us have been impacted by bowel cancer and FAP and now, 3 in the next generation are effected so far. There is an exciting new trial that has started that could greatly impact members in not only our own family, but other FAP families and bowel cancer patients everywhere and we want to contribute to helping find a cure for this disease. There are 13,000 new cases of bowel cancer patients in Australia every year! We have to make an impact on this number and this trial is our best bet yet.
We are raising funds for the Macrae Foundation at The Royal Melbourne Hospital to help this trial along. The hope is that together, we can help prevent bowel cancer from developing in not only fellow FAP families, but future bowel cancer patients. Please help by contributing to the Fastuca Family Fundraising project and help with research into this disease.
